Attention Pilots and All Other O'Hare International Airfield Users
On June 30, 2011, Taxiways V and KK will be permanently closed and the north half of the Northeast Cargo Ramp will be demolished to accommodate construction of the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP).
- Aircraft access to/from the reduced ramp will only be via Taxiways LL, MM and H3, increasing runway crossings on Runways 9R-27L and 14L-32R.
- The reduced ramp will become a joint use operation of Cargo and General Aviation.
- New Hot Spot #12 has been identified. Numerous runway crossings on Runway 27L at Taxiways H3 and MM, and Runway 32R – limited northeast ramp access. (Download the “New Airfield Hot Spot #12” Map)
- Taxi procedures for aircraft using the reduced ramp may be different than in the past. Pilots are urged to be alert. A detailed layout is available. (Download the“O’Hare Temporary Northeast Cargo/GA Ramp” Map)
Northeast Cargo/GA Ramp Detail
On June 30, 2011, Taxiways V and KK will be permanently closed and the north half of the Northeast Cargo Ramp will be demolished to accommodate construction of the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP).
- The reduced ramp will become a joint use operation of Cargo and General Aviation.
- Ramp Line LL1 is for all inbound aircraft and Line LL2 is outbound aircraft. All outbound aircraft must stop at Hold Line and contact Ground Metering frequency 121.675 (Download the Temporary Northeast Cargo/GA Ramp Flier with detailed map)
